Sedation and Anaesthesia

Sedation is a light form of anaesthesia in which the animal is asleep and relaxed, but maintains all vital reflexes and may have some conscious response. It is used for simple and painless procedures such as blood draws, x-rays, ultrasound examinations, etc.... With regard to the risk, it is no greater than that derived from handling animals without sedation. This helps us to be able to handle the animals more easily and to be able to carry out our work correctly for a longer period of time.
